On December 23, 2009, a school administrator and his wife drove to Stockton, California to purchase a new cell phone. Due to the hustle and bustle of the Christmas holidays, they decided to leave their oldest son home to care for his three younger siblings instead of taking all four boys along on the trip. When they finished their business in Stockton, they headed home on Highway 99. A big rig was southbound in the number three lane and attempted to change lanes into the number two lane without clearing for traffic. This deadly maneuver by the big rig driver caused the left rear side of his trailer to clip the right front of the clients' vehicle, causing it to careen across the number one lane, collide with the K-rail, which then caused our clients' vehicle to travel across the number one and two lanes, consequently colliding with another vehicle that was southbound. The collision sent both of the automobiles off the roadway, where they came to rest down in an embankment. The woman client became hysterical, thinking that "I am going to die and my boys will be left alone". The big rig driver was unaware of the carnage he had caused and continued southbound on Highway 99 until he was stopped by another motorist who told him what he had done! Our clients were fortunately not seriously injured, however, they wanted justice. The Dunnion Law Firm arranged for examinations and treatment by medical specialist that established the full and reasonable amount of their damages. The clients relying on the advice of The Dunnion Law Firm "that they only get one bite of the apple" were very happy with the five and six figure results obtained. The woman received $80,000.00 and her husband received $140,000.00 without having to testify or go to court.
