A Fresno Veteran was riding his bicycle when a motorist failed to yield and turned directly into the bicyclist. The bicyclist had no evasive options available as the Defendant struck him even while the bicyclist was yelling for the driver to stop. Immediately after the accident, the Veteran thought he may be okay but soon after realized his injuries were far more serious. The Veteran contacted the Dunnion Law Firm for assistance in obtaining medical treatment and handling his claim. The Veteran was immediately referred to treating providers who were able to diagnose and treat his symptoms. The end result unfortunately culminated in surgery for a medial meniscus tear in his knee. As the Veteran did not have health insurance, the Dunnion Law Firm was able to refer the Veteran to a surgeon and arrange for the providers to wait and be paid out of his settlement. They also arranged for a funding advance for the client in order that he avoid bankruptcy. After a long, hard fight with the insurance carrier, who did not believe that the client's symptoms were a result of the accident, the Dunnion Law Firm was able to convince the carrier to settle the claim. Despite the defendant's nominal insurance limits of $100,000.00, the Dunnion Law Firm was able to get over $79,000.00 in related bills paid, repay the advance received by the client, pay attorney's fees and costs, and put significant funds in the client's pocket when all was said and done.
