A young single mother of a disable child was car pooling to work in a car
driven by a 19 year old. After picking up an additional co-worker, the
19 year old, who had only had a drivers license for six months, failed
to observe a big rig making a wide left turn across his lane. By the time
he realized what was happening his small import automobile had struck
the flat bed trailer portion of the big rig just forward of the rear wheels.
The young mother was seated in the right front passenger seat and was
frightened as the widow shattered sending glass flying throughout the
vehicle. She was crying and hysterical but otherwise eventually reported
that she was alright. None of the other occupants of the car or the truck
were injured. During the following weeks this young mother noted that
she had tension and pain in her neck and contacted The Dunnion Law firm.
She was told that if she still had pain she should seek treatment. She
did not know where to go and was given various medical referrals by The
Dunnion attorneys. Ultimately, she had a microdiscectomy surgery all done
on liens and ultimately paid for by the defendant’s. Her case settled
for $375,000.00. She was very grateful for all the effort and guidance
provided by The Dunnion Law Firm.
