$52,446.24 Settlement Obtained for Woman Pinned Between Vehicles

$52,446.24 Settlement Obtained for Woman Pinned Between Vehicles

Posted By The Dunnion Law Firm || 6-May-2013

The client took her vehicle to the car wash and paid extra to have the carpets cleaned. After her vehicle went through the car wash, an attendant pulled it up in front of the customer waiting area to dry it off, while at the same time another attendant parked a pick up truck behind her vehicle. When the car wash attendant signaled to the client that her vehicle was ready, she stood behind it and lifted the rear hatch to check on the carpet cleaning. As she was standing there, she heard the sound of an engine revving behind her. She began to turn around to see what was going on, and saw the pick up truck driving towards her. The other driver drove into the woman, pinning her between the bumpers of the two vehicles. The woman immediately felt a "crushing feeling" in her legs. Several patrons and employees of the car wash pushed the pick up truck off the woman, and she fell to the ground. When the police officers spoke with the driver of the pick up truck, he stated "he didn’t think he hit her but might have". The woman was taken to a local hospital where x -rays were done to see if she suffered any broken bones, which fortunately she had not. Thereafter, she was treated for "bruises" to her upper thighs by various medical providers. She became very frustrated at her inability to recover from the "bruises", so she called the Dunnion Law Firm to represent her in her case against the at fault driver. The DLF medically managed and thoroughly documented every aspect of her case. The Dunnion Law Firm met repeatedly with their medical consultant, an orthopedic specialist, who rendered a diagnosis far different than "bruising". Armed with this new medical information, the Dunnion Law Firm presented a much stronger case against the other driver, and a settlement was reached 33 days after the settlement demand letter was sent to the other driver’s insurance company.
