A retired Visalia man was leisurely going to get a hair cut on a sunny
morning in August when a man talking on the cell phone, driving a vehicle
for a local governmental entity, sped through a red light slamming into
the side of the man’s car. The police found the man at fault, but,
the governmental agency took a different approach, defending the negligent
driver to the very end, blaming the man for entering the intersection
on a green light without looking to see if a car might be speeding toward
the intersection and predicting someone would run a red light.
The man had fractured ribs and a collapsed lung. He spent several nights
in the hospital and when he was released it was discovered he had a tear
in his shoulder that required surgery.
The Dunnion Law Firm fought for the man all the way up to trial when the
governmental agency finally offered a substantial settlement less than
two months before trial. They disputed who was at fault and tried to blame
the shoulder tear on the man’ long life of hard labor. The car slamming
into him at a high rate of speed causing the driver door to crush into
the man striking the man’s arm, shoulder and head with the door
of the car.
When they tell you that you are at fault, and you know you are not, don’t
listen to them and call The Dunnion Law Firm.
