Driver severely hurt in Hwy. 180 crash

JUNE 26, 2009 - FRESNO -  A driver suffered major injuries when he crashed his car on Highway 180 near Highway 41 early today, the California Highway Patrol said.

The driver, whose identity was not released, was eastbound on 180 near the 41 interchange just after 1:30 a.m. when he lost control and hit the center divider, the CHP said.

The man's arm was so severely damaged that it would have to be amputated, the CHP said.
