Dunnion’s client was driving to work one pre-dawn morning near the San Francisco airport on US 101. For reasons he could not explain, he slammed into the center barrier, disabling his vehicle. While he was trying to get it started again, he was crashed into by a second vehicle, setting off a six car pile up with debris flying all over the roadway. Seriously injured, he was taken to Stanford Hospital with a fractured neck. Everyone sued him--claims which were handled by his insurance company. But what about Dunnion’s client? He hired The Dunnion Law Firm to see if anything could be done about the driver who ran into him. Unable to settle the claim with the carrier, Dunnion filed a lawsuit for their client, who by this time had recovered and returned to work as a baggage handler. Dunnion had done a lot of work with visibility studies and made a reasonable claim that the second driver should have been able to see and react to the disabled vehicle in time to slow down. With the case in litigation, a new adjuster was assigned who listened to reason and paid $120,000 to Dunnion’s client and his wife – enough to pay their bills and put a considerable sum towards their retirement.
