On the evening in question, our client walked from her home to a fast food restaurant to meet friends for dinner. After dinner, she was walking home when the accident occurred. The area where she was walking was very dark, with the only street light on the corner ½ block away that does not illuminate the walkway. As our client walked past the rear of pick-up truck parked in a driveway, the driver put his truck in reverse and backed over her! Our client suffered severe lower left leg injuries which required multiple surgeries to correct. Our client is now left with permanent and lifelong disability involving her left lower leg and left ankle.
The insurance company for the driver of the pick up truck asserted our client was at fault as she was "not watching where she was going" and alleged other defenses to try to make their insured driver look like the good guy and our client the bad guy - a total role reversal of what really happened!
The Dunnion Law Firm’s senior attorney and the senior case manager fought against the insurance company’s unfounded allegations and achieved a large settlement for the woman prior to the filing of a lawsuit against the pick up truck driver. The client is extremely grateful and thankful for the professional, efficient and personal representation she received from the Dunnion Law Firm.
