Coach Negligent for Football Injury, Suit Claims

August 04, 2009 @ 05:19 PM — by info

A St. Louis high school football player suffered serious and permanent brain injuries because of negligence by his coach and the school district, a lawsuit filed by the boy's mother claims. According to the lawsuit, Darren Sunkett forced the boy to play with a defective helmet and ignored signs that the boy had suffered a concussion. The lawsuit also alleges school officials were aware of and support a culture in which injuries were not reported or underreported.  Terry Hillig, St. Louis Post Dispatch  08/04/2009
