Uninsured Mechanic Hit by Delivery Truck Wins Recovery – $500,000

A self-employed, middle-aged mechanic was helping repair his friend’s vehicle in front of the friend’s home. As he came around to the hood of the vehicle, a delivery truck struck him on the head and hip, and the mechanic fell to the ground.

The mechanic suffered a laceration to his head, fractured his right femur, and fractured and dislocated his hip, which required surgery. Metal plates were required to re-align the displacement, rotation and angulation of his femur. Torn muscles at the leg and surgery required him to stay at the hospital and endure physical therapy, which included a stay at a skilled nursing facility for rehabilitation. The accident also resulted in ongoing pain, as well as limited mobility and overall movement.

Although the client had no medical insurance, Dunnion Law helped the client manage and obtain the ongoing treatment for his injuries. Dunnion successfully recovered half a million dollars on behalf of the mechanic for his traumatic experience.
