Car hit by school bus – $650,000
A husband and father of four was driving his pickup truck in Merced County when a school bus driver failed to stop at a stop sign, proceeded into the intersection and slammed into the father’s truck.
The accident resulted in arm lacerations requiring multiple stitches, and bruising, numbness and tingling to the father’s left knee. He had a head fracture and his hip required surgery. Following further treatment, injuries to his knee cartilage and bone were also discovered. The neurogenic injuries he suffered resulted in loss of consortium.
Dunnion Law fully investigated the extent of damages and loss, which included compensation for ongoing surgery and replacement to his hip, as well as physical therapy for his physical and surgical recoveries. Dunnion successfully increased the settlement by $240,000 more than the initial demand of $410,000, for a total of $650,000.
