Dog Bite

Client was attacked by a neighbor’s dog less than a block away from her home. She was on her bicycle heading to work. As she biked past her neighbor’s house, she saw her neighbor’s Belgian Malinois run through an open driveway gate and head toward her. The dog jumped and latched onto her right leg below the knee. The dog unlatched and then circled around her and bit her left rear thigh. The owner was now running out of the same gate and yelling at the dog to get off her. The dog let go and ran to its owner. Our client, stunned and in shock, walked back to her house in a bloody dress. Our client suffered unrelenting and persisting pain, numbness, and extreme sensitivity at the wounded sites to her right leg. Her right leg below the knee would develop large visible scarring and would constantly hurt at the lightest touch. She developed PTSD from the attack, which saddened her because she loved animals. Our client suffered both mental and physical injuries from a vicious dog. After all that, she’s still dedicated to helping and saving animals, and does so in her service work at non-profit organizations that protect animals.
